I love it when I get to do stuff that I really loved again. I made another "Alice" scarf - this yarn totally reminded me of the Cheshire Cat in the Disney cartoon and I had to make another one. Of course, I totally want to keep it - but instead - I'll sell it. Boo hoo....

I also am putting up a few more things in my Etsy shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/hippiejo74) and made an absolute boatload of ZOMBIE balm for freebies (and maybe even list some in the shop) for my customers :)

So - it's finally Thanksgiving. Happy Turkey day!! Remember to say a prayer for all that you are thankful for - as well as those in our military serving our country and our freedom.

On another note - I have become one of those annoying people who put up their Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving. But I don't have enough time to do much with the kiddos - and today they are away. All night. Adult time!!!

Busily working on my handmade Christmas goodies....knitting, embroidering and sewing my heart out. Pics to follow...

Sorry - we've all been down with the sickness. Finally getting better (a little) after about 2 weeks of this crap. Poor kids have it worse than anyone...they're little noses are a continuous red from being rubbed too much. On a good note, I've been watching the lovely 80's movie, Satisfaction. One of my guilty little pleasures :)

Ugh! Everybody is sick...I have a sinus infection, the kids and the manflesh all have nasty colds and it is beautiful outside....figures. Anyhoo - here's a pic to cheer you up - this is what happens when you let the kiddos run around...

New crafty crap...

Here's Paul - the first in my series of the Beatles' Yellow Submarine Perlers. It has been a total p.i.t.a. I hate reading graphs. Any graphs.

And doing massive embroidery - both for Christmas and certain people's birthdays....you know who you are. If you can't tell - its fabric calenders.

And I deserve a big fat thank you for all the work I'm putting in : ) Just so you know...

And also the super awesome painting I'm giving to Fay&Steve for Christmas - I can't wait for them to have it - so I'm gonna post the pic now : ) If you can't tell, I'm patting myself on the back. Yea me!

Just for fun - a picture of Elvis the squirrel with a big fat hard one - courtesy of the manflesh. At least it's great weather here at the Center of the Universe....just wish it would stop snowing them damn Asian beetles. I wonder if I can kill them with just the powers of my evil mind?? So far, it's not working too well...

Still working on Christmas presents. Making some fabric calenders embroidered with famous paintings...right now I'm working on Dali's "Persistence of Memory" and it's turning out really well - will post pics when I'm done :)

Don'cha love it when kids speak their minds?? Inka Dinka decided to let it be known that "Don't you remember last time, when my wiener hurt??" and just to make sure we heard it correctly - he repeated it again at the top of his lungs to make sure there had been no mistake in what he said. Really. In front of not only his aunt and uncle - but in front of a guest - poor Uncle Spence. :)

Ahhh, rediscovering the joys of childhood paint by numbers. I got some ones that are as old as I am, and had never been opened. The fun part was that all the paints were wayyyy dried up :) (you know - being as they are 35 years old and all) and having to replace it with colors that looked similar. And I am using acrylics instead of oils - just faster and easier :) Also finished my portrait of Max - can't wait to give it to Fay & Steve for Christmas :) Yea me!!

Does anyone have the book, "Motherhood for Dummies"?? I seem to have missed the section on why kids put things in their pants - especially Inka Dinka. Is this just something boys do?? Or is it universal for both sexes? And when do they stop fighting?? Because I think they started too early (2 & 3) - so that means they should be done sooner, right?

On the other hand, his is getting to be a real scream. He comes up with these weird little "Bubbyisms" like - "hang-a-berger" for hamburger and instead of the word "today", he'll say "on this day"....HUH??? Plus, both of the rug monkeys seem to have a lovely little Southern accent. Since when does anyone we know even speak with a Southern accent?? Sure, I'll use y'all every once in awhile - but come on! I do love a big "MAMAAAA!!" every once in awhile too... :)
Woohoo and all that for a clean house - at least for the time being...

Lovely fall day outside - which is of course, why I'm inside doing lovely embroidery for Christmas and upcoming birthday presents (that means you, Fay). I can't wait until it's all done and I can wrap them up in a lovely recycled box - and I can still make it look pretty :) I'm trying to do most (if not all) of my Christmas presents this year handmade. And it is HARD. I don't know if I started early enough to get them all done - but I'm sure gonna try. And I'm thinking of delving into a new craft.....flocking. You know, that stuff that is fuzzy that covers little useless items and makes it kinda velvety....but just lightly. I love flocking. It makes stuff so...fluffy, in a lovely tactile kinda way...
I'll let y'all know how that ends up :)

So I've finally started writing my own knitting patterns - at least one, that is...
When I've finished the final product - I'll let y'all see it as a gorgeous finished hooded cowl...and then think about finishing writing down the pattern. And all of it's lovely mistakes. Such is the life of a newbie knitter. Plus - you have to consider the fact that Ickle Pickle and Inka Dinka are being rotten rug monkeys (as those their age are prone to do) and I have to herd them on to the couch before major damage is done.

My version of the Beatles in Perler beads is coming along nicely as well...Paul is getting a little help from his friends (sorry :) I couldn't help it) and I decided that the Yellow Submarine would be the best bet for the coolness factor. And I just made it totally lame by even saying that. The best Perlers I've done so far were the Alice in Wonderland and the rabbit - need to do those again, 'cause they were fun :) What'da think of them??

I've done it - finally...

Okay...so it's taken me a long time, but I've finally done it - the ultimate crap shoot - created a blog. And one that, no one will care, or read about - and just like everybody else - I'm here to gripe about what irritates me on a daily basis. So HAHAHA to you for being dumb enough to read it :)

Not much happening this week - just the usual swarm of Asian beetles invading my personal space and privacy. Inka & Ickle are, as usual, jumping around screaming whenever one of them gets too close (which means anywhere between 3 and 50 ft) and screaming for me to "get it". Since when did I sign on to be the "bug killer" in the family?? I don't remember this being a requirement for motherhood...

Elvis (we have nicknamed all the squirrels in our yard this) is up to his usual antics - eating thru every pumpkin that was put on our porch by my Dad. Thanks Dad for the rotting carcasses of pumpkins all over our porch. Really.
